Details

The Kroc School’s Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice (Kroc IPJ) at the University of San Diego is pleased to announce this year’s cohort of Women PeaceMakers from Afghanistan, The Gambia, Philippines and Trinidad and Tobago. Wazhma Frogh, Yamoundow Jagne Joof, Rochelle Mordeno and Sabrina Mowlah-Baksh will join the Kroc IPJ on September 24 for a seven-week residency.

Their first public event as part of the Peace exChange, the Kroc IPJ's new event series, will be “Peace Officers, PeaceMakers, and the Power of Partnership: The 2017 Women PeaceMakers Panel.”

In its 15th year, the newly redesigned Women PeaceMakers program includes a seven-week residency at USD, as part of a larger 10-month fellowship that will build an engaged community of these four peacemakers as well as four international peace partners looking to transform their ability to end cycles of violence. This year’s program focuses on security sector engagement.

About the Peace exChange

The Peace exChange, a new event series at the University of San Diego, will catalyze new and innovative thinking among all of us in San Diego on how we build inclusive, peaceful communities here and around the world. Each year the exChange will create a series of experiences that will leave you with new knowledge, new ways of thinking and maybe even new ideas about what you can do.

Be challenged. Be inspired. Be engaged. Be part of the Peace exChange.
