Details

Appellate courts are slowly and finally starting to limit the kind of evidence that can be presented in gang prosecutions. Meanwhile, both county and federal prosecutors not only continue -- but seem to be escalating -- their gang prosecutions. In this environment, we criminal defense attorneys must understand not only the current state of federal and state law concerning such prosecutions, but we also need to know how to effectively attack the prosecution's case.

Presenters at this year's seminar will call upon their combined practical experience in federal and state trials in discussing (1) moving to limit gang evidence and in some cases getting outright dismissals of gang allegations, (2) presenting gang experts, (3) cross-examining the prosecutor’s experts, and (4) attacking the use and misuse of social media in gang cases.
