The First-Gen Action Team is proud to announce the upcoming "Enhancing a Sense of Belonging for USD's First-Generation Students: Practical Strategies for Faculty and Staff" summit! We invite you and your team to join us at this summit on Monday, March 4th from 9am to 12pm as part of the campus-wide efforts to better support First-Generation college students. Light refreshments available.
Content to include:
- Highlights and trends of USD's First-Generation student population and their intersecting identities
- Keynote by Dr. Lisa Nunn, USD Associate Professor in Sociology, from her research on college belonging on her new book "33 Simple Strategies for Faculty: A week-by-week resource for teaching first-year and first-generation students"
- Discussion and practical takeaways on key factors of student success
