The works of James Joyce contain hundreds of references to traditional Irish songs. John Feeley and Fran O’Rourke perform a concert of these songs. Their CD recording of the traditional Irish songs of James Joyce is available at www.joycesong.info.

John Feeley, Ireland’s leading classical guitarist, is a worldwide performer, highly regarded for his work with Irish composers and for his arrangements and recordings of music for guitar. His appearances include Sydney’s Opera House, Frankfurt’s Old Opera House, Verona’s L’Arena, and Carnegie Hall.

Fran O’Rourke is Emeritus Professor of Philosophy, University College Dublin. Besides ancient, medieval, and contemporary philosophy, O’Rourke has written and lectured on the philosophical aspects of the work of James Joyce, and on Joyce’s use of traditional Irish song. O’Rourke has performed these songs worldwide.
