Details

Eagle Rock School and Professional Development Center is a full-scholarship alternative residential high school in Estes Park, CO, serving students that haven’t found success in their traditional school environments. We also support schools nationally to implement effective and engaging practices that foster each student's unique potential and help young people use their minds well.

Each year, we recruit a diverse group of young educational leaders to serve an apprenticeship year in our community as Americorps Public Allies Fellows. The Public Allies Fellowship at Eagle Rock is a residential, community-based service opportunity for individuals who are passionate about alternative teaching and learning strategies, social justice, youth development and empowerment, and re-engaging high-school students in their education. The fellowship allows 13 individuals to work with high school students as a fellow in either teaching, health & wellness, residential life, outdoor education, or professional development. Additionally, fellows grow as leaders through trainings, mentorship, developing curriculum, creating student activities and events, designing Team Service Projects, and learning about innovative teaching strategies that are positively impacting schools around the country
