Details

The Humanities Center presents a series of panel discussions on aspects of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein on its bicentennial publication anniversary. Faculty will explore the novel's central themes - from its adaptation of Prometheus in classical mythology, to its inclusion of Milton's Paradise Lost, to its engagement with animal ethics, to its afterlife in contemporary films and graphic novels. Following the panel discussion, we will screen a television or film adaptation of Mary Shelley's novel.

The Frankenstein Bicentennial Panel Discussion will have two meetings:

March 8, 2018 and April 12, 2018 from 4-5:30pm in Serra 200

"It's alive!" Join us for screenings of Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, and contemporary television and film that illuminate themes in Mary Shelley's novel. Screenings will be introduced by faculty and followed by a Q&A.

Showings on March 8, 2018 and April 12, 2018 from 6-8 pm in the Humanities Center.
