Sleep Week is here! Getting your 7-8 hours of sleep is a top tip for finals success! Sleep increases alertness, reduces stress, bolsters memory foundation, and promotes overall health. Watch all week for tips and information on getting your zzz's!
Here are a few tips to think about:
Sleep Duration: Getting 7-8 hours of sleep each night optimizes cognitive functioning, memory, test-taking ability, and emotional well being. Students who take time for sleep are more likely to have a better GPA than those who replace sleep with studying.
Sleep Preparation: Do something relaxing before bed and turn off the electronics!
Organize & Prioritize: Think ahead and work realistically. Don't forget to schedule breaks to give your brain a rest!
Seek Support: Studying in groups may be helpful, as well as asking a friend to help keep each other accountable. Peer coaches and professional counselors are also available.
