In this seminar, participants will explore the various methods of asset allocation, diversification and rebalancing, taking into consideration one’s tolerance for risk. Participants will consider the interrelatedness of global financial markets, and the cost/benefits for building well-diversified international portfolios of assets. The seminar will further expand into common hedging mechanisms including futures, forwards and options.
This seminar occurs on three separate evenings, 6-9 p.m., on September 8, 15 and 22
Learning Objectives:
- Recognize the importance of international finance by examining the interrelatedness of global financial markets.
- Differentiate among different investment vehicles and optimal asset allocations when considering major goals such as house buying, retirement, college attendance (529 plans), medical expenses, and so forth.
- Identify the objectives of investing in global financial markets and the way diversification plays a role.
- Create an optimal mix of risky and risk-free assets
- Examine the importance of risk aversion in investment decision making, and in particular, on the final composition of the portfolio.
- Develop various hedging strategies for mitigating exchange rate fluctuations by utilizing forward, money and financial options markets.
