USD Jazz Ensemble presents its end-of-semester concert "Toreros in Blue" directed by USD music faculty Justin Grinnell. This is a jazz concert paying homage to one of the greatest American composers of the 20th century: George Gershwin.
Gershwin composed many works that continue to be popular today including the orchestral composition "Rhapsody in Blue" and the song "Summertime" from his ground-breaking 1935 opera "Porgy and Bess." Jazz musicians continue to perform and record many of Gershwin's songs, such as "Embraceable You," "Our Love Is Here To Stay," and "They Can't Take That Away From Me." Come hear these memorable Gershwin melodies!
Unless otherwise noted, ticket prices are $10 general admission; $8 seniors, USD faculty, staff and alumni; and $5 for students with valid ID (USD or non-USD). Tickets are on sale at the door only. Cash and checks accepted.
