The WorldLink Program at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice (IPJ) will host the 36th Annual San Diego Regional Junior Model United Nations (JMUN) Conference – the oldest JMUN Conference west of the Mississippi River.
Through the JMUN, youth assess and strengthen their skills of research and debate, as well as leadership and negotiation. Students prepare all year for the event.
The San Diego Regional JMUN Conference is student-run, and several youth leaders serve as directors (Secretary-Generals) and specific committee chairpersons. This year, with support from the WorldLink Program, the San Diego Regional JMUN Conference will host over 300 students from San Diego County. Participating youth will address various issues, including the UN Millennium Development Goals, nuclear proliferation and disease prevention. Student leaders from Scripps Ranch High School and Patrick Henry High School serve as primary organizers.
This event is closed to the public.
