In this session, Roxanne Ruzic, EdD, and Maria Kelly, PhD student, will present initial results from a research study conducted in partnership with Digital Promise and the Pearson Foundation examining teaching practices in schools and classrooms across the United States employing virtual learning, bring-your-own-device, flipped classrooms, and 1:1 laptop/iPad models.
Sarina Molina, EdD, will share the outcomes from an eight-week online professional development program conducted for Kito International staff members. Kito International is a non-profit organization in Nairobi, Kenya whose purpose is getting youth off the streets and providing them with the skills to successfully transition into society as a means out of poverty. The challenges and successes of utilizing mobile technology in this project will be discussed.
