This seminar will provide attorneys and law students with an introduction to the legal issues involved with advising charter schools.

This seminar will help you answer the following questions:

  • How are charter schools different from other public schools?
  • How are charter schools organized, operated, and governed?
  • What special laws does a charter school need to comply with?
  • How do charter schools serve students with special needs under IDEA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act?
  • What legal, operational and political issues do charter schools face?
  • How can attorneys help the charter school movement?
