Becoming Mexipino is about two ethnic groups, one Filipino and the other Mexican, converging in San Diego, California. Both groups are forced to live in segregated areas, but within this space they slowly build their own world through shared cultural practices, family, andmusic.
Rudy Guevarra, a USD Alumnus, received his PhD in History, from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His teaching and research interests include race and ethnicity, immigration and transnational migration, multiracial and multiethnic identity, and labor history.
