WorldLink offers a specialized high school internship during the summer, giving youth from both San Diego County and Baja Mexico the opportunity to explore global topics in an in-depth manner. WorldLink summer interns, Alexander Dey Bueno, Kira Elliott, Tsion Fikre, Ellie Molise, Brandon Wachs and Catherine Zuniga, will present their research on the 2012-2013 student-selected theme, The Power and Influence of Media. Student interns will address Social Media's Revolutionary Change, The Relevance of Traditional Media, The Relationship Between Media and Government, Media as a Humanitarian Voice and Media as a Global Activist.
Light refreshments will be served.
WorldLink ~ Connecting Youth to Global Affairs is a unique, year-round program of the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice (IPJ) that provides opportunities for high school youth to meet world leaders and experts. Students learn about challenges facing us locally and internationally, and engage in thoughtful discussions about solutions in a forum where their voices are heard and valued.
