The WorldLink Program at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice (IPJ) will host the 35th Annual San Diego Regional Junior Model United Nations Conference – the oldest JMUN Conference west of the Mississippi River.
A JMUN Conference is for 6th-9th graders. It is often the experience that creates a life long passion for MUN, which provides opportunities for participation through the college level, nationally and internationally. Through the JMUN, youth assess and strengthen their skills of research and debate, as well as leadership and negotiation. Students prepare all year for the event.
The San Diego Regional JMUN Conference is student-run, and several youth leaders serve as directors (Secretary-Generals) and specific committee chairpersons. This year, with support from the WorldLink Program, the San Diego Regional JMUN Conference will host over 350 students representing eight schools throughout San Diego County. Student leaders from Scripps Ranch High School and Patrick Henry High School serve as primary organizers.
