The sixth and last Sunday of Lent is known as Palm Sunday. Also called Passion Sunday, it marks the start of Holy Week and commemorates Jesus' entry into Jerusalem in the days before his trial, death, and resurrection. The name of Palm Sunday comes from the fact that as Jesus entered the city on a donkey, crowds greeted him by waving palm branches and singing "Hosanna, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord." Immediately after entering the city, Jesus began his journey to the cross.
