Details

An interactive two-day certification workshop in coaching is being offered through the USD Department of Leadership Studies on a credit and non-credit basis. Chris Coffey and Frank Wagner, internationally recognized facilitators, will offer training that gives participants tools, processes, and skills to coach others for behavioral change and improve leadership competencies.

Audience: Department of Leadership graduate students enrolled in LEAD 581 are required to register and participate in the workshop. No additional fee is required. Members of the USD community, including alumni and faculty, may also take the workshop on a non-credit basis at a special rate. Members of the public who wish to enhance their coaching skills or are internal resource professionals where coaching is often a part of the role are also invited to register.

PLEASE NOTE: The workshop is being offered on a space-available basis. Payment is required at the time of registration. There are no refunds after May 30, 2012.

Learning Objectives

• Develop the ability and willingness of participants to effectively coach others

• Understand and apply a proven process to achieve positive, long-term behavioral change

• Create an environment where people can achieve maximum behavioral change while minimizing wasted time

Most of the time in the workshop is devoted to skill practice in real life coaching situations. Prior to attending the highly interactive workshop, participants will get The Coaching Playbook that details critical Do's & Don'ts of helping successful people get even better.

Those who successfully complete the two-day training receive an initial certification from the trainers.
