The Partnership conducted a public opinion survey among San Diego residents to better understand their views on climate change. The survey found that San Diegans believe climate change is happening, and poses significant threats, but is not necessarily a top-of-mind issue. The Partnership also interviewed regional leaders regarding their views on climate change and its effects on the San Diego region. The interviews found that while the majority of the region's leadership is concerned about the impacts of climate change, most do not consider other leaders to share the same concern.

These county-wide surveys are part of a project to develop a program for climate change education in San Diego County. Information gathered in this forum will inform a Strategic Plan to better communicate to San Diego leaders and residents about climate science and climate change impacts.
