'Women, War & Peace' Screening and Discussion with Women PeaceMakers
Date and Time
Wednesday, October 12, 2011 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
"Women, War & Peace" is a bold, new five-part PBS television series challenging the conventional wisdom that war and peace are men’s domain. With depth and complexity, "Women, War & Peace" spotlights the stories of women in conflict zones from Bosnia to Afghanistan, and Colombia to Liberia, placing women at the center of an urgent dialogue about conflict and security and reframing our understanding of modern warfare.
Following each screening, there will be a post-show discussion with the 2011 Women PeaceMakers, Wahu Kaara of Kenya, Manjula Pradeep of India, Claudette Werleigh of Haiti and Rashad Zaydan of Iraq.
