Plants have a long and fascinating history as useful tools for the human race. One interesting aspect of plant use is the role they play as sources of drugs. USD biology professor, Lisa Baird, will discuss common drugs that are derived from plants, current innovative uses of plants in the medical community, as well as a brief history of plant use in the world of prehistoric medicine.
