Organ Harvest: Is China's Government Killing Falun Gong and Other Prisoners of Conscience for Their Organs?
Canada’s former Secretary of State and Nobel Peace Prize Nominee David Kilgour and International Human Rights Lawyer and Nobel Peace Prize Nominee David Matas will present their allegations that China's government, through the use of its hospitals, military bases and medical doctors, is organ harvesting innocent human beings throughout China and cremating their bodies after transplanting the needed organs.
Priority seating for first 300 arrivals
There will be 30 - 45 minutes allocated for a Q&A session for audience members and members of the press
The lecture will address allegations that wide-scale organ transplant abuse and organ harvesting of prisoners of conscience, including practitioners of Falun Gong, have been taking place in China since 2001, and continue to date. Former Canadian Secretary of State Hon. David Kilgour and Prominent International Human Rights Lawyer David Matas will present their findings, and recommendations for reform. Kilgour and Matas have concluded in their book Bloody Harvest: The killing of Falun Gong for their organs, that 41,500 documented organ transplants between the years of 2001 - 2006 are unaccounted for. The report alleges that throughout China, Falun Gong practitioners are victims of systematic organ harvesting whilst still alive. The selling of their hearts, corneas, livers and kidneys are alleged to be the biggest supply for “Organ Tourists.”
Matas and Kilgour were both nominated for the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize and won the 2009 Swiss International Human Rights Award for their work on the organ harvesting report. Matas and Kilgour have addressed their findings to the United Nations, the Canadian Parliament, the U.S Congress and the European Parliament. Since then, they have traveled to more than 50 countries lecturing on the topic of organ transplant abuse and organ harvesting, and their recommendations on how to stop this abuse.
“The Chinese government has yet to come clean and be transparent. It remains to be seen how it could be possible that organ transplant surgeries in Chinese hospitals have risen massively since 1999, while there are never that many voluntary donors available,” -- Manfred Nowak, UN Special Rapporteur on Torture, August 2009
"Falun Gong are a peaceful, spiritual people who have never harmed anybody. They believe in truth, compassion and tolerance. We believe there has been and continues today to be large scale organ seizures from unwilling Falun Gong practitioners.” -- David Kilgour
“The condition of prisoners in China is increasingly well-known but it is only in recent months that a particular mistreatment- of Falun Gong practitioners - has come to light, namely the selection of prisoners for ‘reverse-match’ organ and tissue transplants, leading to their deaths. This is genocide.” -- Edward McMillan-Scott, vice president of the European Parliament
