Cyberliberties and New Social Movements with Patrick Burkart, PhD, associate professor, Department of Communication for Texas A & M University

Professor Burkart’s research explores emergent and convergent markets for communication that divulge underlying structural transformations, power shifts, and political reforms, together with the risks and opportunities that come with them. He grounds his work in international political economy, media economics, and legal studies approaches.

Professor Burkart received his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin. He has published numerous articles and is the author of Music and Cyberliberties and co-author of Digital Music Wars: Ownership and Control of the Celestial Jukebox
