Join us for the fifth annual in-depth speaker series for educational leaders at the ELDA Spotlight on Education Speaker Series, sponsored by the Educational Leadership Development Academy (ELDA) in the University of San Diego’s School of Leadership and Education Sciences.

The fifth annual in-depth speaker series for educational leaders will focus on "Next Steps: Using Curriculum and Learning Technology in 21st Century Schools." Alan November's talk will discuss "Designing Rigorous, Motivational and Globally Connected Assignments."

Alan November, an internationally recognized leader in educational technology, challenges and inspires schools to think beyond the classroom and prepare students for today’s global economy. November was a Spotlight Speaker last year and participants from that event have asked that we bring him back this coming year. In this hands-on workshop, November will provide models of designing more rigorous and motivating assignments aligned to curriculum. Participants will use various web-based tools, including Google Maps, Nings and Google Docs, and screencasting to build assignments for students. Leaders will use these same tools to build role models of how to embed web 2.0 tools into day-to-day practice.
