Details

Is it possible to advance teaching and scholarship through faculty-mentored undergraduate research? Mentoring of student research is one of the high-impact teaching practices that helps undergraduates develop deep and lasting learning and prepares for successful post-graduate education and careers. Mentoring of research is sometimes considered to be in conflict with completing the scholarship needed to maintain expertise in a discipline and to achieve professional advancement.

Join Linda Boland, PhD, associate professor of biology at the University of Richmond, Richmond, VA and the 2019 Knapp Chair for the Liberal Arts for a brief presentation and facilitated discussion—all are invited.
