Each TLC Faculty was asked to create a mini-seminar in response to the following prompt:
"What problem are you inspired to examine within your discipline, and how do you go about it?"

Mini-Seminar Title: How can a study of literature contribute to the “dignity of all”?

Instructor: Dr. Marcell Maese-Cohen

Mini-Seminar Description: Literature offers a training in close-reading. How can this skill be translated for understanding the social relationships that produce our material and ideological realities? This mini-class will begin with a close-reading of our “Inspire” theme, and then we will ask what does dignity look like? We will also think about the images and narratives that accompany our understanding of changemaking at USD.

Dr. Marcell Maese-Cohen teaches ENGL 358: Photography and Literature.
