The Institute for Civil Civic Engagement has been formed as a partnership between San Diego’s Mesa, City and Miramar Colleges and the University of San Diego to encourage, promote and increase civility in civic discourse by our fellow citizens and public officials, both interpersonally and in all manner of media.

Restoring Respect is an Institute for Civil Civic Engagement community initiative founded in 2011 to promote greater civility in San Diego civic dialogue. The initiative’s signature event is its annual Conference on Restoring Civility to Civic Dialogue, now in its sixth year.

Restoring Respect is supported by a consortium of San Diego area academic institutions and community groups including the Catfish Club of San Diego, the San Diego Community College District, the University of San Diego and SDG&E.
