Thermodynamic Beauty with Iñaki Abalos and Renata Sentkiewicz of Abalos+Sentkiewicz Arquitectos (Madrid, Spain)
Iñaki Abalos graduated from Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM) and is a professor of Architectural Project Design at ETSAM. In 2009, he was named the Kenzo Tange Professor at Harvard University. Abalos has been a guest professor at the Graduate School of Design (GSD) and taught courses at the Architectural Association (London), École Polytechnique Fédérale (Lausanne) as well as Columbia, Princeton and Cornell Universities.
A founder member of Ábalos & Herreros (1984-2006) and Ábalos+Sentkiewicz Arquitectos, he is the author of Le Corbusier: Rascacielos, Tower and Office, and Natural-Artificial with Juan Herreros as well as two volumes of Atlas Pintoresco.
Renata Sentkiewicz graduated as an architect from Cracow Polytechnic and since 2007 has been associate professor of Architectural Project Design at ETSAM and Laboratorio de Técnicas y Paisajes Contemporáneos.
A founder of Ábalos+Sentkiewicz Arquitectos and member of the Zero Energy Alliance, Sentkiewicz has given several international workshops in architecture and landscape, principally at the Berlage Institute, IUAV in Venice, the Festarch Cerdeña, European Symposium on Research in Architecture and Urban Design, and Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Currently, she serves as editor of Cuatro observatorios de la energía.
