Liberal Studies Majors: Join us and have your questions answered. Panelists:
Nancy Narron (B.A., English; M.S., Instructional Design) has taught 2nd, 4th and 5th grade for the past 13 years at Lincoln Elementary School, a low-income school with 90% Latino population, GATE accredited.
Angela Christie (San Jose State University and University of the Pacific) teaching credential in multiple subjects, an administrative credential, an ESOL specialist, and a Title I coordinator at several school sites. Taught at Cuyamaca School Model Education Program for 10 years with student teachers for 6 years; previous experience as both an assistant principal and an acting principal. Currently, a consultant for Learning Headquarters, an educational business which trains teachers in the area of standards-based student writing.
Karen Degischer (B.A., Liberal Studies, SDSU; M.A., Education Administration, SDSU) Credentials include multiple subjects, specialist-severely handicapped, specialist-learning handicapped, specialist-administrative services. Experience as Special Education teacher, Special Education site administrator, high school principal, and director II, Special Education. Kurt Fredrick Administrator of the Year Award, Rotary Administrator of the Year Award. She currently hires, supervises and evaluates certificated and classified personnel for Special Education positions.
Christina Carson is one of our own Liberal Studies majors who is currently student teaching.
