Maria Kazito by Erik Ehn, directed by Delicia Turner Sonnenberg, artistic director of Moxie Theatre Company.
Based on true events that occurred during the 1994 Rwandan genocide, the story unfolds of Maria, a Rwandan Benedictine nun who was sentenced to 12 years in prison for active involvement in the death of 5,000 to 7,000 people. Maria's story is one of devotion, religious faith and dementia, and the moment when these convictions form a dangerous alliance.
