Alice Eagly, Ph.D., professor of psychology, Northwestern University, is the featured speaker for the 2009 Michael Haney Distinguished Lecture in Psychology.  

Monday, March 23, 7 p.m.,“Women as Leaders: Negotiating the Labyrinth.”  Eagly focuses on the psychology of prejudice toward female leaders as well as other reasons why women may face challenges navigating the path toward leadership.

 Tuesday, March 24, 12:30 p.m., “The His and Hers of Prosocial Behavior.”   Eagly focuses on when and why men or women are more likely to help others, highlighting the contextual variation of sex differences in helping behavior.

 Eagly has received numerous awards and recognition for her work including the Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award from the American Psychological Association and  the Gold Medal for American Psychological Foundation Life Achievement in the Science of Psychology.
