Theology and Religious Studies Faculty Colloquium:

"A Virtual Library of Catholicism" by Ed Starkey, University Librarian

For several years, Ed Starkey has been working to link the libraries of Catholic colleges and universities, with the ultimate goal of creating a virtual library of Catholicism. This has implications for Catholic studies, for general studies of Christianity, and for Catholic self-understanding in an academic sense. The project is parallel to the establishment of the independent Center for Advanced Catholic Studies at University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Starkey has used two sabbaticals and a unviersity professorship and has twice visited the Vatican Library in connection with this project.
