Tom Love, Founder and executive chairman of Love's Travel Stops and Country Stores, will visit the University of San Diego School of Business on April 28 at noon to talk about his entrepreneurial path to success.
Love and his wife, Judy, started their stores in 1964 with one small location in a tiny western Oklahoma town. Today, Love’s has more than 420 locations across the country in 41 states and employs more than 17,000 talented team members. Love’s is recognized each year by Forbes as one of America’s largest privately owned companies.
A graduate of Saint John’s University and the University of Oklahoma., Love served in the U.S. Marine Corps and has an honorary doctorate degree from Oklahoma City University. He is the past chairman of the Oklahoma Transportation Commission, the Oklahoma Business Roundtable and Oklahoma’s TRUST Coalition. He currently serves on the board of directors for the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame in 2000 and was named Oklahoma’s Most Admired CEO in 2010. He was also honored with the TRUST Coalition’s Guardian of Transportation award in 2014.
