Food and Beverage Services
All catered events must be hosted by USD Banquets and Catering. You CANNOT bring in outside vendors or food to the University Center without prior permission from Carol Norman, Director of Dining Services.
1) Getting your event catered:
Once you have reserved a space to house your event, you will want to reserve yourself a caterer in the event that you are using food. You can do so by calling the University’s award winning Catering and Banquet Services (Banquets & Catering Services) at x4560 . You can complete a catering request form online, but remember it is only a marker to hold a spot for your event. You must obtain an actual order form from them. Also keep in mind that all catered events must be booked 10 working days in advance of the event. USD is the exclusive cater for all events held on campus
2) Using an outside Vendor
To use an outside vendor other than Catering and Banquet Services, please contact Carol Norman, norman@sandiego.edu. You must seek approval for an outsider vendor well in advance of your event.
3) Before calling University Catering:
The following is a list of things to consider before calling University Catering:
Who will be your contact person for the event?
Number of people you are serving
Type of food you are interested in serving
Who is paying for the event/ do you have a POETS Code?
Will you need linens, flowers, or other decorations?
Will alcohol be served? If so, please review the University Alcohol Policy
