Leading Innovation at the School of Engineering.
Engineering research lays the groundwork for the innovations of tomorrow that can improve the lives and the livelihood of people around the world. We encourage our faculty and students to engage in formal research and independent study.
- Faculty Research: Faculty areas of research include advances in technology and processes in a wide array of topics in Electrical, Industrial and Systems and Mechanical Engineering with applications to healthcare and medicine, telecommunications, manufacturing, aerospace and more.
- Student Research: Many USD students take part in formal research programs outside of USD as well as partner with a faculty member on independent study.
- Senior Projects: As part of the required curriculum, each student is required to develop a project their senior year and present it at the Spring Showcase and Fall Expo.
