Integrated Engineering Educational Objectives and Student Outcomes

The integrated engineering program seeks to develop graduates who:

  • globe icon are equipped with an interdisciplinary set of technical, leadership and other professional capabilities necessary to approach local and global problems
  • collaboration icon practice engineering with a critical understanding of how engineers impact society
  • eye icon have developed a critical awareness of their personal attitudes, behaviors and values and the ways in which these align with their professional aspirations

To achieve these objectives, the integrated engineering program has been designed to ensure that graduates have achieved the following student outcomes, with an ability to:

  • brain identify, formulate and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science and mathematics
  • earth apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental and economic factors
  • chat bubble communicate effectively with a range of audiences
  • scale recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental and societal contexts
  • link function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks and meet objectives
  • measure develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions
