Hello, Future Engineer!

USD's Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering welcomes a diverse group of students from a variety of backgrounds. Whether you are already enrolled at USD but need to declare or change your major, a high school or transfer student, or a member or veteran of the military, we make the process easy.

Getting Ready to Apply?

First thing you should know, admission to the University of San Diego does not require declaration of a major, so there is no separate admissions process or standards for engineering majors. Visit the USD undergraduate admissions office for complete undergraduate admissions requirements.

To receive the best possible academic advisement, we encourage you to list engineering as your intended major on your application.

Need to Declare Your Major?

If you are already attending USD and need to declare computer science, electrical, general electrical, industrial and systems or mechanical engineering as your major, visit our advising office. Remember, you can always change your mind within the first two years.

Still Thinking About It?

We'd love to meet you. Give us a call. We can answer your questions by phone or arrange a visit to campus. You could even sit in on a class in session! You are also welcome to watch engineering seniors present their capstone projects at the Spring Showcase and Fall Expo. Don't miss out on that. Check our events calendar for more opportunities to visit campus.
