Cyber Passive and Active Reconnaissance

Workshop Description:

In this upcoming Cyber Saturday, we will focus on the hands-on development of both passive and active reconnaissance skills. The course will start with a short overview of the general tools and practices used in both passive and active reconnaissance. We will discuss and practice techniques for gathering target information passively from the internet using “Google-Hacking” for deep-web searches, social media target analysis, website analysis, website mirroring, and social engineering. Working within a safe virtualized environment we will practice active reconnaissance techniques such as basic network mapping and enumeration using several commonly available tools and procedures.

Offensive Security and Penetration Testing

Workshop Description:

Rather than taking a conventional defensive security approach, which focuses on reactive measures, such as patching software and finding and fixing system vulnerabilities, this workshop focuses on offensive security; a proactive and adversarial approach to protecting computer systems, networks and individuals from attacks. In this workshop we will focus our training on offensive security measures which are focused on seeking out the perpetrators and in some cases attempting to disable or at least disrupt their operations.

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity will play a very important role as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning continues to develop. Understanding how AI/ML works and how to ensure that the appropriate security is coded. This will be imperative for security by design projects of all types to be created for future technologies. Come and learn the inter-workings of these applications to think about designing in new, innovative and different ways.
