Engineering Showcase: Hub of Creativity, Innovation

This event occurred in the past

Creativity, innovation and plenty of hard work took center stage — and just about every square inch of the other available space — at the Engineering Showcase, where seniors in the Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering had the opportunity to discuss and display projects they had developed over the course of the 2015-16 academic year.

All told, 25 teams comprised of members from each of the school’s three disciplines (mechanical, electrical, and industrial and systems engineering) were on hand to share their findings, discuss their successes, and lament their failures … which is all part of the process, according to Mechanical Engineering Projects Co-Chair and Assistant Professor Daniel Codd.

“The students have so much energy at the start, and one of the keys is to keep them focused on moving forward throughout the process,” he said. “There are highs and lows in project development, and it’s great to see them working together to solve problems. Their creativity and energy is inspiring.”
