Professor Rick Olson Honored by San Diego Science Alliance

The San Diego Science Alliance (SDSA) Board of Directors has announced their selection of Rick Olson, Ph.D., associate professor, Industrial and Systems Engineering, as a SDSA Volunteer of the Year.

The award is to recognize his many quality and dependable efforts to support SDSA and science, technology, and engineering. His involvement with SDSA’s robotics committee and programs are highly valued by SDSA. The annual Botball competition would not occur without his leadership and facilitation. More recently, he has stepped up to help with SDSA’s GetSSet program where his knowledge and insights are helping to make the program stronger as SDSA enters its second program offering.

The entire SDSA team looks forward to acknowledging Olson’s contributions at the SDSA Partnership Award Event on Thursday, May 10, 2007 from 4:30 to 7:00pm at Biogen Idec. Biogen Idec is located at 5200 Research Place, San Diego, CA 92122. This event honors teachers, administrators, businesses, and volunteers who have worked to support the SDSA  mission to enhance science literacy by inspiring students to question, discover and explore an engineering, science or technology future.
