Emergency Evacuation Procedures for Students with
Mobility Impairments

During a real emergency or a drill (whether it is a planned drill or the result of a false alarm), the power that controls the elevators is cut off.  It is essential for students/visitors who are on floors above the ground level and who have mobility impairments (wheelchair users, for example) to go to the nearest stairwell immediately and to wait inside on the landing for emergency personnel to arrive.  Tell someone, preferably an instructor, to inform Public Safety of your location.
