peace
Youth from the Linda Vista Teen Center participated in the mural process and painted a mural on peace, a theme of particular importance in lights of some gang violence in the community. They were invited to prepare a presentation for a faculty workshop on the barriers and difficulties they perceived in going to college. This power-point outlines their perspective.

The faculty participated in adding images to the border of the mural as their reflection on what the youth had said.

Youth from the Teen Center participated in the opening of the Center for Awareness, Service and Action at USD; the opening of the Montgomery Family Success Center at Montgomery Middle School; and the Peace Festival at USD. In the evening for the Peace Festival they participated in the spoken word event.

A graduate student from the counseling program presented a college workshop to the youth
