Tsunami Relief Bracelet

The Tsunami Relief Bracelet is here. All funds will go to the Society of the Sacred Heart. The Society of the Sacred Heart is providing relief in the area hit by the tsunami. The Society will work on long-term reconstruction, counseling, education and employment projects as well as the immediate disaster relief.

Tsunami Relief Bracelets are available at the Center for Community Service-Learning (Maher Hall 218).  All donations large or small are appreciated, however a minimum donation of $5 is required to receive a bracelet.

APOYA! Mentoring Program - Become a mentor for local youth

Are you interested in becoming a mentor to local students, ages 6-18? APOYA! Mentoring Program is looking for volunteers for 5 of our sites. APOYA!, spanish for support, stands for Actively Preparing Our Youth for Achievement. We want you to help us impact the life of local youth. Have fun this semester and make a difference! Workplace Literacy Tutors Needed

We are seeking members of the USD community interested in tutoring University employees with their language development. Tutors will be paired with learners and assist them at least one hour a week with their English Language Academy classes or work on other areas of development. This is a volunteer position however it is an opportunity to practice your own skills in another language and form relationships with some great people on campus.

Shoes That Fit

Shoes That Fit is a program that provides underprivileged children in the Linda Vista community with appropriate shoes and clothing. This project is made possible through the efforts of the students, faculty and staff at USD. To MAKE A DIFFERENCE in a child's life, take the time to choose the name of a child you would like to help. If you are interested, names, shoe sizes and directions are posted on bulletin boards outside the Financial Aid office (in Hughes Administration Center top floor, room 319), School of Education (2nd floor) and west entrance of Deli (in the Hahn University Center).
