Faculty workshops offered throughout the year give an introduction to service-learning pedagogy and assist faculty in thinking through what objectives for their course can be met through community based experiences. Community service-learning staff assist in selecting community partners and making practical arrangements for students. Workshops are normally held in January and May. A stipend of $250 supports syllabus revision and an additional stipend of $250 supports assessment of the first semester the component is incorporated. Experienced faculty serve as mentors throughout the process.
