Diana Glaser

Diana Glaser, PhD is leading the Orthopedic Research
at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego since July
2009. She is defining the strategic direction of scientific
research and technology development. Since 2012 she
is also the VP of Research and Development in
EXEGEN IP Alliances, an organization that provides
quality services to individuals and entities in the
medical, surgical, and bio-technical fields regarding
product development, intellectual property
representation, marketing, and commercialization. Dr.
Glaser is recognized for scientific accomplishments in
the areas of pediatric and adult medical devices,
orthopedics and spine with excellent contributions in
preclinical and clinical research. She has over 100 peerreviewed
articles, invited presentations, and society
meeting papers as well multiple provisional and full
patent applications.

Dr. Glaser is involved in different organizations at a senior level. She is the director of Corporate
Relations at Project Management Institute (PMI) in the San Diego PMI chapter, holding the
Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Scrum Master (CSM) credentials
continuously applying classic project management skills and agile methodologies for best
results. She also serves on the Research Committee of the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of
North America (POSNA), an organization dedicated to advance orthopedic care for children and
adolescents. Dr. Glaser has been recently appointed in the advisory group of CREATE (The
Clinical and REhabilitative Advisory Team) as part of AFIRM (Armed Forces Institute of
Regenerative Medicine). She is also part of the Institute of Engineering in Medicine at UCSD, a
local organization focused on translating creative ideas into clinical medicine and novel products
that will transform patient care and improve the health and wellbeing of people. Dr. Glaser is a
member of many recognized professional organizations such as American Academy of
Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS), Scoliosis Research
Society (SRS) and Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA). She is also
actively engaged in promoting women within science and women in leadership positions and an
active member of Association for Women in Science (AWIS) and Society of Women in
Engineering (SWE). Dr. Glaser is a reviewer for internationally recognized peer review journals
such as the Journal for Orthopaedic Research, The Spine Journal and Medical Engineering and
Physics. Dr. Glaser completed her MS in Engineering in Aachen, Germany in 2001 and
subsequently worked as a project managing engineer for a consulting company in Germany. In
August 2008, she was awarded a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Concentration Orthopaedics/Biomedical Engineering, at the University of Tennessee, USA.
