Compliance means following the laws and university policies that apply to our daily activities when acting on behalf of the university.
In support of its mission and core values, the University of San Diego is committed to conducting its activities with highest integrity and ethical standards, and in accordance with all applicable laws. Compliance is everyone’s responsibility.
Higher education is highly regulated and complex environment, and violations can give rise to serious penalties. An effective Compliance Program advances the university's commitment to high ethical standards, promotes appropriate conduct, and provides a structure to prevent and respond to possible violations.
The Incident Reporting Helpline is a mechanism through which members of the university community can communicate concerns about possible violations of applicable laws or university policies in a confidential or anonymous manner.
You may call the toll free number (1-855-799-8305) or submit an online report. The Incident Reporting Helpline is run by a company called Navex Global, which takes the initial information and routes it to the appropriate person at the university for follow up.
You are encouraged to discuss any questions or concerns that you may have regarding compliance with university policies or federal, state, or local laws or regulations with your supervisor, dean, a member of the university administration, Human Resources, or the University Auditor. If you are not comfortable reporting your concern directly, you may report those concerns using the Incident Reporting Helpline. Such concerns can be raised anonymously.
Yes, you may choose to remain anonymous. At the conclusion of your contact, you will receive a confirmation number. This number will allow you to check the status of your report. This feature also allows university administrators following up on your concern to seek clarification or request additional information from you, without knowing your identity.
The Incident Reporting Helpline does not record calls and does not have caller ID capability. Reports filed online will not be traced to an IP address.
The university prohibits retaliation against an individual who reports, in good faith, an actual, potential or suspected concern regarding compliance with applicable laws or regulations or university policies.
