As USD’s closest partner in Linda Vista, Bayside Community Center works to help ease the struggle many low-income residents have with social and economic challenges, cultural assimilation, and social service needs.
Founded in 1932, the Bayside Settlement House began providing services to Italian and Portuguese fisherman and their families. In 1978, the renamed Bayside Community Center relocated from Little Italy to Linda Vista and quickly became the heart of the community. For more than 75 years, Bayside has provided emergency services and advocacy to immigrants and refugees who are limited by language, cultural understanding, knowledge of our existing laws, and transportation barriers.
Bayside is a collaborative partner and welcomes USD students to participate in and help deliver its 14 programs and services, which are designed to strengthen individual potential and build a healthy, active community.
