Furahaa Saba, M.A. Spring 2008 Courses: Professor Saba, an adjunct faculty member, has been teaching at USD since 1999. She completed her M.A. and post graduate studies at Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio. Saba teaches Introduction to Public Speaking. She has received several grants from the University’s Enhanced Student Faculty Initiative, which is designed to foster face-to-face academic experiences between faculty and students to enrich academic life at the University. Saba has used these projects to explore the relationship between the art of public speaking and the process of performing culturally diverse music. Prior to relocating to San Diego Saba taught Communication courses at Salisbury State University in Salisbury, Maryland. Her course load included courses in Interpersonal Communication, Small Group Communication, Family Communication, and Organizational Communication. She has also taught Communication courses such as Public Speaking, and Argumentation and Debate at the University of Maryland, College Park, Morgan State University, Baltimore, Maryland, and St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida. Professor Saba is passionately interested in culturally diverse programs. Currently Saba is touring her original work, These Stories Saved My Life, an intimate venture into the lives of African-American women of the Deep South.
