Caley Cook joins USD from University of Southern California, where she received her M.A. in print journalism at the Annenberg School for Communication. It was at USC that Cook developed her research interests in the image of the journalist in popular culture through the Norman Lear Center IJPC project. Her research focus through postgraduate work was a study of the image of the journalist in the Law & Order television franchise, which was later published in the IJPC Journal. Her other research interests include cultural studies and media consumption, economics and production. Cook publishes regularly as a freelance journalist in such publications as VIBE, San Diego CityBeat, Orlando Weekly, San Diego Union-Tribune, OC Register, CSTV and others, as well as consulting for career musicians across Southern California. Cook currently teaches courses in media studies and media writing.
