Dr. Chung earned her doctorate in Communication from the University of Oklahoma (1998) and joined the Department of Communication Studies that same year. She has published extensively in intercultural communication, including a textbook, Understanding Intercultural Communication (with Stella-Ting-Toomey) and articles in Communication Research, International Journal of Intercultural Relations, and the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships. Dr. Chung teaches courses in interpersonal, small group, and intercultural communication, and regularly conducts diversity training workshops across the United States.
