The Linda Vista Planning Group (LVPG) was formed and recognized by the City of San Diego to advise and make recommendations to the City Council, Planning Commission, city staff, and other governmental agencies on land use matters, specifically concerning the preparation, adoption, implementation of, or amendment to, the City’s General Plan or and the Linda Vista Community Plan.
LVPG focuses its review on conformance with the adopted community plan and/or the city’s general plan. Upon receipt of plans for local projects, the planning group’s recommendations are submitted during the public review period.
Given the significant presence USD has in Linda Vista, the Office of Community and Government Relations often works with the planning group well in advance of any changes to the university’s master plan. This cooperation ensures that future construction or additions to the campus are in conformance with USD’s conditional use permit and avoid any negative impacts to its neighbors.
